So I decided to update. The last time I updated my journal I was in Hawai'i. I'm back in SC. Have been for ages. I've been updating a little along with various bits of photography. This is this thrilling part. I just received a gift of two(2!) new(to me) 35mm cameras. A Nikon and a Yashasomething. When I remember, I'll come back and fix that. I'm really thrilled because I also received a zoom lens! I haven't had the chance to really test them out because I've been so broke. I'm breaking down and spending the money so I can see how they work, though. They are really clean and in fairly good shape. It's been so long since I've spent time with actual film. I'm delighted. I keep pestering my girls because I want to go on a photo shoot or a photo safari or SOMETHING! I really just want to spend a day taking pictures until I just cannot even fathom pressing the shutter button again. The only thing I'm really lacking at this point is a dark room. I WISH I had an enlarger. If I had that, I'd be able to do so much more. My gift source has an eye out for an enlarger, so maybe. Maybe soon!

Speaking of photography, I've been commissioned to do some portraits for a friend. I'm excited about this. I have some ideas, but I definitely want to do the kinds of pictures she wants. That'll come up soon. Maybe if I get permission, I'll post a sample. Maybe not. We'll see.

I've also been dabbling in media other than photography (GASP!). I'm part of a group called Team Awesome. We're just that cool. And we have craft nights, where we do all kinds of things. We've endeavored into plushies, clay, jewelry, clothing, etc. It's all in good fun and usually nothing serious. I tend to forget to post any of the work I've done here because... I forget to post a lot of things here. However, I've made some things lately that I'm really proud of. I've been focusing on jewelry, and more specifically here lately hair clips. I was taking old things apart to make new things yesterday. She called me a deconstructionist. I haven't gotten around to posting all of the earrings and things that I've made. One day, when I have good lighting, I will have a huge dump of all the jewelry I've created. Until then, I'll keep collecting evidence and plan to post it. Keep your eyes open!
